According to preliminary statistics, the total output of the Chilean aquaculture industry reached 909,000 tons in October, a 17% increase from the same period in 2016.
The main resources of the Chilean aquaculture industry are Atlantic salmon, mussels and Pacific salmon, which account for 50.6%, 33% and 7.8% of total production of aquatic products in the first 10 months of this year.
During this period, the total output of Chilean fish is 592,000 tons, 14.8% higher than the same period in 2016, and this year production has been restored. Among them, Atlantic salmon production reached 460,000 tons, a 10% increase over the same period in 2016. The output of rainbow trout was 61,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%. Pacific salmon production was 71,000 tonnes, up 79% from a year earlier.
