It is reported that the north American lobster has been decreasing year after year after the increase of 2007. The annual output in 2016 is 6% lower than that of the previous year. Production is forecast to be lower this year than before.
According to the statistics, the total output of lobsters in North America in 2015 was 15.22 million tons, with Canada producing 8,6200 tons. Total production was 143,000 tons in 2016, down 6%, and Canada's production was 76,000 tons, down 12%.
In practice, lobster fishing this year is still worrying. By July, the catch had not improved significantly.
